Roasted for espresso by Barefoot, this lot from Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands showcases coffee from smallholder farmers growing as few as 20 trees in remote coffee gardens alongside subsistence crops. Grown at 1,100 meters in volcanic loam soil, this traceable coffee undergoes wet-hulled processing followed by two-step sun drying on raised beds, utilizing traditional methods where farmers use no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, relying instead on natural leaf-fall mulch and sustainable practices. The wet-hulled process delivers floral aromas followed by notes of cola, black cherry, and citrus with a thick, luscious body.
