This organic Ethiopian is roasted by Evans Brothers and comes from the Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm, a 500-hectare estate with 300 hectares dedicated to coffee, owned and operated by Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family since 2012. Grown at 1,900-2,200 meters with heirloom Ethiopian varieties, this honey-processed coffee represents Evans Brothers' fourth offering from this exceptional farm. Ismael oversees 25 permanent and 300 seasonal employees, offering competitive wages to retain skilled pickers who compete with a nearby mining village for work, while also providing free transportation and financial support for community schools and buildings. Expect tasting notes of fresh pear and lime with intense jasmine florals, caramel sweetness, and sparkling acidity that showcase the distinctive character of this meticulously managed organic estate.
