In 2010, after working at a well-known shop in Los Angeles, coffee veteran Andrew Heppner and his wife packed up and moved back home to Bay City, Michigan, to start Populace Coffee and to bring a new caliber of quality coffee to the area. In 2025 Populace entered a new phase and was purchased by Joshua Walker and moved operations to Grand Rapids, MI. Populace strives to source and roast only the highest quality coffees, and are pleased to share their vision with you.
